  9. AmiComSys is a AMarquee client program which you use to send messages or
  10. files to other people on a tcp/ip-net - e.g Internet. 
  11.  
  12. Now you can say Hi! to your friends on the net, or just see if they are
  13. connected.
  14.  
  15. You can:
  16. * send text messages
  17. * send chat requests
  18. * send WEB-requests.
  19. * transfer files.
  20. * have a public chat (HotLine)

  22. Future updates will include support for personal chat and more.

  26. AmiComSys requires amarquee.library v.45+ in LIBS:. Get it from
  27. the AMarquee-package - aminet:comm/net/AMarqueeX.xx.lha

  29. Note that the above only apply if your friends is using AmiComSys,
  30. and have an Amiga. ( An IBM-PC-version of AMarquee.library would
  31. be nice, or better a java class :-))

  49. NEW: AmiComSys now requires AMarquee.library version 45+.
  50. NEW: The Distant Savings Time setting in TimeZone-settings is now
  51. off by default. It should be off for now (it's normal time you know).
  52. BUGFIX: Problems if you have put AmiComSys in your WBStartup. Entries in the
  53. list from the last time you were online is still there when you go online
  54. again. Bug reported by Thomas Svenson and Sonat Böler. Thanks!
  55. BUGFIX: If you have noticed that you are still logged in to server some
  56. minutes after you went offline with your tcp/ip-stack, without first
  57. quit AmiComSys: Just save your settings, and you want notice doublicates,
  58. anymore.
  59. Actually the old copies of your client is removed from server when you
  60. log in again.
  61. NEW: As I said above you stay logged in to server for 10 minutes if you
  62. do not quit AmiComSys before shutting down your Internet-connection.
  63. Now it is possible to tell AmiComSys to log out from server, without quiting.
  64. There's a new arexx command DISCONNECT. Insert the following to your
  65. offline.script if you don't want to quit AmiComSys before going offline.
  66. rx "ADDRESS AMICOMSYS; DISCONNECT"
  67. BUGFIX: The message "Could not send message" could pop up without reason.

  71. NEW: Browserpath and ftp-program-path added to Misc-settings.
  72. NEW: Arexx commands GET BROWSERPATH and GET GET FTPPRGPATH added.
  73. NEW: The rexx-scripts, in the rexx-directory, SendWEB.amicomsys and
  74. SendFTP.amicomsys were updated.
  75. You should now enter the path to your webbrowser and ftp-program in the
  76. Misc-settings.
  77. NEW: The data (YYMMDD) can now be automatically appended to logging path.
  78. Optional via the Program-settings.
  79. NEW: Obsolete message handling is removed. This means you can't send or
  80. receive messaged with/from users of version 1.10-.
  81. NEW: Implemented support for AMarquee-System-message. Can only be sent by
  82. the server operator from an admin-application.
  83. BUGFIX: "Connection broken by sender" was showed when the tcp-ip-stack was
  84. shut down.
  85. NEW: SendFile feature is now multithreaded. This means you don't have to
  86. wait for a file to be sent before you can send another. You can also
  87. receive several files at once.
  88. BUGFIX: IconifyWhenClose setting was not active directly after the setting
  89. had been altered. Reported by Sonat Böler. Thanks!  
  90. NEW: Now it's possible to see who has the HotLine-window open. A ^ is
  91. inserted in front of the client name when the window is open.
  92. NEW: Did some changes which is invisible for the user, but will make it
  93. possible to implement features in the future.

  101. BUGFIX: There could be a memory curruption with the Hotline, when long texts
  102. were sent. The maximum transmission length was set to low. hm :-( so the
  103. block was truncated.
  104. NEW: NotifyArexx.amicomsys is now excuted with arg string
  105. 'loginname hostname dis/con/upd'
  106. NEW: Added Arexx Command SEND MSG/S CHAT/S WEB/S FILE/S USER TEXT, with
  107. which you can send messages and files through Arexx.

  109. NEW: Dropped support for AmiComSys version 1.14 and lower. This means
  110. that clients using version 1.14- won't be seen in the clientlist. For now
  111. they will see you. Therefore the gadtools version of AmiComSys is unsupported
  112. and should be removed from AmiNet & website.
  113. NEW: Added Arexx Command SET SELECTED <loginname>
  114. NEW: Added Arexx Command SET HOTLINE open/closed
  115. NEW: Modified the clientlist refresh to a smarter one.
  116. NEW: Added Chat-tab to settings window.
  117. NEW: You now can specify whether you want the HotLine-window to show
  118. Realname & username, Realname or username.
